• In the state of California, there are far more students graduating high school than there are spaces available at colleges and universities.

• Universities and Programs across the state are declaring a state of 'impaction'.  Even the State Universities, which have been associated with being 'safety' schools or 'back-up' schools are now denying admission to the very students that assumed they would be admitted.With this type of overcrowding in higher education, students need more guidance and help.  

•  High School and College counselors often have more students than they can assist and many students do not get the detailed attention that they need.
